Temporary event notices (TENs) are required when events are taking place in a venue that ordinarily isn’t licensed. The events must take place within a specific time period of less than 168 hours or 7 days. The maximum number of people attending an event at any one time is 499. Personal licence holders will be able to hold up to 50 temporary events per year.
Non-personal licence holders may apply for a maximum of 5 events per year.
The number of times a temporary event notice may be given in respect of any particular premises is 15 times a year.
The maximum number of days a premise can be used for temporary events per year is 21 days.
Temporary event notices must be served on the relevant licensing authority giving a minimum of 10 clear working days notice. Please note that the 10 working days notice does not include the day the notice was received or the day of the event.
A copy of the application must also be served on Staffordshire Police and environmental health, giving the minimum required notice. The relevant contact details can be found in the guidance document. Please note that if the Application is served via .GOV or the Licensing email address then we will serve on the Police and Environmental Health on your behalf as this is treated as an On Line Application.
