It’s a New Year; the time of New Year resolutions, cutting carbs, hitting it hard at the gym to prepare for that summer body.
Coming to the Brewhouse on Thursday 11th June 2020, Beach Body Ready sees The Roaring Girls smash their way through ingrained fears, food insecurities, and toxic advertising as they blend impassioned rants with cheesy fitness routines and live, informal chats with a beach trip on film, accompanied by a banging soundtrack.
Following their smash-hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019, Beach Body Ready will tour to eight venues in the Midlands as part of In Good Company’s biggest ever subsidised tour, with the aim of providing a fantastic night out, building audiences for contemporary pieces, exposing artists to excellent work and presenting a new model for sustainable touring for both venues and artists.
Shaunagh McClean of The Roaring Girls said: “We believe that approaching big, sometimes taboo, subjects on a personal level, allows us to talk about these topics with our audiences. We hope our audiences leave laughing, crying and, most importantly, talking”.
The show will be visiting the following venues in spring/summer 2020:
- Derby Theatre Studio (Saturday 18 April),
- Stamford Arts Centre (Thursday 23 April),
- Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton (Saturday 25 April),
- Mansfield Old Library (Thursday 21 May),
- Brewhouse Arts Centre, Burton upon Trent (Thursday 11 June)
- Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester (Friday 12 June),
- Nonsuch Studios, Nottingham (Saturday 13 June)
- Riverhead Theatre, Louth (Monday 15 June).
