Withdrawal of Consent of a DPS

Where a DPS wishes to withdraw their Consent as being specified as the Designed Premises Supervisor (DPS) they must notify the Local Authority and the Premises Licence Holder in writing.

There can be no sale of alcohol without a Designed Premises Supervisor at any Premises

Surrender Premises Licence

Where a Premises Licence Holder wishes to surrender their Premises Licence they must notify the Local Authority in writing and send back the original Premises Licence and Summary by post or state reasons for failing to provide.

If the Surrender is made after the due date of the Annual Fee, that fee will still be applicable and must be paid in full.

How to Apply

Download the relevant form and once completed this must be either sent by email to [email protected] or by post to The Licensing Department, East Staffordshire Borough Council, The Town Hall, King Edward Place, BURTON UPON TRENT, DE14 2EB.  Please ensure that the original Premises Licence and Summary is returned by post back to us.

There are no fees applicable to the Withdrawal of the DPS or the Surrender Notice.

The Application may take effect immediately or on a date/time specified on the Application Form and in due course a revised Premises Licence and Summary will be issued to the Premises Licence Holder.

The Premises Licence Holder can then apply to Vary the Premises Licence to specify a different individual with a Personal Licence as the new Premises Supervisor and request that the Variation applied for should have immediate effect.
