What is accreditation?
Landlord accreditations schemes are voluntary schemes that landlords can join. All private sector landlords who own residential properties for rent in England and Wales can apply for the accreditation.
The main benefit of the accreditation is that landlords are able to Advertise to future tenants that you are accredited and therefore you adhere to a high standard of property standards and tenancy management.
Where to get accredited?
To raise housing standards in the borough, we encourage all landlords to become accredited. East Staffordshire Borough Council does not have an accreditation scheme, but there are some schemes landlords can join:
National Landlords Association Accreditation Scheme
Midland Landlord Accreditation Scheme
Residential Landlords Accreditation Scheme
East Midlands Landlord Accreditation Scheme
Certain schemes have also set up deals with local advertisers, so that accredited landlords can market themselves as a responsible landlord.
East Staffordshire Borough Council also provide regular landlord forums which include training and advice to assist landlords in meeting their legal obligations. Further information on landlord’s forums is available on the landlords forum page.
